On 1-2 November, around 100 entrepreneurs from Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts will present their businesses at the East Expo 2018 exhibition in Lviv, part of the XVIII International Economic Forum.
East Expo 2018 aims to support small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, disseminate information about business opportunities and boost business contacts between Ukrainian entrepreneurs.
The key event in East Expo 2018 will be the showcasing of businesses from eastern Ukraine that are continuing to thrive despite economic and political challenges. Exhibition goers will see agricultural products, salt-based products and pottery, IT technology, 3D printers, clay stoves, clothing, eco-products, and much more.
Business owners, managers, investors, representatives of international organizations, officials and community leaders from all over the country will come to Lviv to find new business partnerships and clients from different parts of Ukraine, as well as Poland and other EU countries.
In addition, East Expo 2018 goers will have an opportunity to learn more about export opportunities to EU countries, improve their knowledge of business processes and attend panel discussions, presentations and thematic workshops focused on economic and investment prospects in Lviv, Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
During the two days, exhibition goers will vote for the best business presented at the exhibition, which will receive an award.
UNDP is organizing the East Expo business exhibition in Ukraine for the second year in a row. In 2017, the event took place in three cities: Kramatorsk, Severodonetsk, and Kyiv. More than 150 local companies showcased their products. Seventy per cent of the enterpreneurs reported having established new business partnerships as a result of participating in the exhibition.

East Expo 2018 is organized by United Nations Development Programme in Ukraine with financial support from the US Embassy in Ukraine, the Government of Japan and the Government of Poland, and in partnership with Lviv Regional Council, Lviv Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Regional State Administrations in Lviv, Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts.
The International Economic Forum, which has taken place in Lviv annually since 2001, is considered the major event in the economic year of western Ukraine. The Forum aims to present Lviv Oblast as a safe region for doing business in Ukraine, facilitate dialogue between the authorities and businesses, and boost cross-border cooperation. The high profile guests expected at the Eighteenth International Economic Forum include the President of Ukraine and diplomatic and business delegations from more than 100 countries.
