Forum of creative industries will be held in Dnipro-city on 21-22 February 2017 within the framework of the project ‘Bridges of Public Activity’ funded by the EU.
The forum will involve 200 creative entrepreneurs, developers, culture managers and representatives of relevant organizations from different regions of Ukraine, as well as representatives of government and local authorities, community leaders, territory development experts, and investors.
The theme of the forum is “Creative Industries for Territory Development”. The program of the event includes: speeches, presentations, projects and discussions focused on the potential of creative and cultural industries for socio-economic development, and, of course, networking and communication to establish new partnerships.
The forum will present successful practices of cultural and creative industries from different regions of Ukraine, as well as new projects looking for funding and partners. Participants will have a chance to listen to inspirational presentations from practitioners of cultural and creative industries, who will share their experience; reports of creative economy researchers; and advice concerning fundraising from grant making organizations and representatives of investors.
The forum is held with the support of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration.
This is the first event of its kind in the Dnipropetrovsk region and the first Forum of Cultural and Creative Industries within the framework of the ‘Bridges of Public Activity’. All in all, four such forums on cultural and creative industries are scheduled for 2017–2018, all of them will take place in Dnipro-city.

Creative industries include forms of entrepreneurial activity in areas that are related to creativity and involve synthesizing and applying knowledge, information, personal skills and creativity.
Areas of creative industries:
audio-visual works (films, TV, radio, new media, music); programming, including production of interactive and entertainment software and computer games; tourism; sports; books and newspapers; heritage (museums, libraries, archives and historical environment); performative arts (theater, performance and dance); visual arts (galleries, architecture, art and antiques market, fashion, design and crafts), etc.
The charitable foundation ‘Pomogaem’ (We Help) – an independent Ukrainian charitable organization based in the Dnipro-city. The Foundation was created in 2009 by foster parents who took care of orphans and volunteers who helped abandoned children in hospitals. The Foundation works to improve conditions for children and families in Ukraine and enhance the welfare of Ukrainian society, involving local resources and developing philanthropy in Ukraine. To achieve these goals, the Foundation implements its own projects, supports projects of other organizations and creates partnerships.
The main areas of activity of the Foundation ‘Pomogaem’
- HEALTH (assistance in paying for treatment, psychological support for seriously ill children; helping medical care institutions with equipment, medicines, and supplies; development of hospital clowning in Ukraine within the volunteer project “Doctor Clown”);
- FAMILY (support for families who take care of orphans, assistance to low-income families with children and families in difficult circumstances, implementation of projects in the areas of education, culture and sports);
- AVAILABILITY (creation of the Center for Rehabilitation and Inclusive Education in Dnipropetrovsk region, development of the barrier-free urban environment, socialization of children and youth with disabilities).
The project “Bridges of public activity” is financed by the European Union and is implemented in 2016–2018 via partner organizations: Center for Cultural Management (Lviv) Ukrainian Library Association (Kyiv), Information Society Development Foundation (Warsaw), Charity Foundation ‘Pomogaem’ (Dnipro).
The project “Bridges of public activity” involves trainings and workshops on creative industries, operates National Exchange Program for Civil Society Activists, Journalists and Cultural Figures. Besides, the project is conducting mapping of the communities of 12 towns of Ukraine and the results will be presented in autumn 2017.
